Molly Simpson Gross is a Partner with the Firm whose practice focuses on Estate Planning and Administration, including Trusts, Elder and Special Needs Law, and Intellectual Property. Ms. Gross is passionate about helping families plan for the best while preparing for the unexpected— guiding young families who want to protect their future, adult children caring for aging parents, and older adults who wish to ensure every detail of their plans is thoughtfully addressed. She also advises families on planning for long-term care, including Medicaid planning and strategies to help protect assets while navigating the possible costs of nursing home or assisted living care. Ms. Gross frequently works alongside financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to help clients implement streamlined, coordinated estate and business plans.

A Charlotte native, Ms. Gross graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University and earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill.

Ms. Gross is active in the legal and civic communities, both locally and across North Carolina. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Catawba County Bar Association. She also volunteers with the North Carolina Bar Association’s Disaster Legal Services Project, Lawyer on the Line, and serves on the Local Advisory Committee for the Foothills Office of Legal Aid of North Carolina. Her commitment to the community extends beyond the legal profession: she has served on the boards of several local organizations, including the Chamber of Catawba County, Carolina Caring, and the Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont Council. She has also been a guest lecturer for the CVCC Small Business Center and the Catawba Valley Paralegal Association.

Ms. Gross and her husband, Jonathan, live in Hickory with their daughter, three sons, and their dog, Chief Justice—who, fortunately, rarely presides over family disputes.
