Barnett named NC Rising Star for 2012
Hood reappointed to Board of Elections
David W. Hood, a partner of the Firm, was recently reappointed to serve on the Catawba County Board of Elections. Mr. Hood was first appointed to the Board in 1998. At the Board's organizational meeting on July 19, 2011, David was elected Chairman. He will serve in that role for the next two years. Hood reappointed to Tort Issues Task Force On July 6, 2011, David W. Hood was reappointed to serve on the NCBA Tort Issues Task Force for the 2011-12 fiscal year. The Tort Issues Task Force meets to review and react to proposed tort reform bills offered at the legislature, to make appropriate recommendations to the Board of Governors with respect to such legislation and, if agreed to by the co-chairs, to meet for any other purpose to advance the administration of justice related to tort law. Mr. Hood recently completed a term as chair of the General Liability Practice Group for the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and now serves on the board of the same organization. New associate joins Patrick Harper & Dixon On Monday, August 2, 2010, Patrick Harper & Dixon, LLP welcomed Susan Williams Matthews as the firm's newest associate. Ms. Matthews comes to PHD from the law firm of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Charlotte. Susan is a third generation Catawba County attorney. Associate joins Patrick Harper & Dixon On Friday, January 1, 2010, Patrick Harper & Dixon, LLP welcomed David W. Aycock as an associate in the litigation section. Mr. Aycock began his law career with a firm in Gastonia where he practiced for several years. Associate joins Patrick Harper & Dixon On Friday, September 18, 2009, Patrick Harper & Dixon, LLP welcomed a new associate, Casey M. Winebarger, to the firm. Ms. Winebarger was sworn in by Judge Kincaid at a ceremony held in the Catawba County Courthouse. Using her grandfather's Bible held by her mother, Casey takes the oath to practice law before a group of family and friends. Congratulations, and welcome!
