David Aycock, Attorney, Hickory, NC

David W. Aycock, Associate of the Firm, concentrates his practice in the area of Civil Litigation.  He previously practiced in Gastonia, NC with the firm Stott, Hollowell, Palmer & Windham, LLP, where his practice focused on civil litigation in both state and federal courts.  He has experience with all phases of trial law, including motions practice and jury trials.  He has also appeared before the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Mr. Aycock represented clients in numerous areas of the law, including personal injury defense, municipal liability, ad valorem property tax collections, and account collections.  He joined Patrick, Harper & Dixon in January of 2010.

David is a native of Morganton, North Carolina, and graduated from Freedom High School, where he was a three-year letterman and senior captain on the soccer team.  He graduated from Davidson College in 1998, where he earned his A.B. in History.  While at Davidson, he was a four-year member of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps program, and he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army upon graduation.  He served on active duty for four years, acting as both a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer.  Prior to leaving the Army and attending law school, he attained the rank of Captain.  He went on to graduate from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 2005.

David is a member of the Catawba County and North Carolina Bar Associations and the North Carolina State Bar.  He is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.  In the community, he has previously served on the Board of Directors for With Friends, Inc., a non-profit agency assisting homeless youth in Gaston County.  He has also served on the Gaston County Salvation Army Advisory Board.

David’s wife, Angie, is also a native of Burke County.  They and their daughter, Ava Cate, currently reside in Gastonia.
