The photograph in the background, courtesy of Fanjoy·Labrenz Studios, depicts the house of Finley Gwyn Harper, a founder of Patrick, Harper & Dixon.  The Harper House constitutes one of the finest examples of Queen Anne architecture in the State of North Carolina.  Patrick, Harper & Dixon was integral to the process of converting the home into the Hickory History Center.
